Swedish Relaxation Massage

The goal of this massage is to relax the entire body. It is a series of long and flowing strokes directed toward the heart to increase detoxification, promote relaxation, and reduce stress. Swedish Relaxation Massage is good for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle tension and toxins, improving circulation and flexibility.

Swedish massage is also known as a traditional relaxation massage. Swedish massage is performed with moderate pressure and cream or oil are applied to the body. A short assessment is done before the massage in order to best meet the client's individualized needs.

Hot/Cool Stone Massage Therapy.

Hot/Cool Stone Massage incorporates both heated and cooled stones that are placed on the body or used in massaging the muscles. It is a specialty massage that uses smooth heated basalt stone which absorbs and retains heat very well. The heat is deeply relaxing and helps muscles release tension. Cool Marble stone is used to reduce inflammation and to target trigger points.

This is a unique ‘vascular gymnastics’ of the circulatory system. It improves the work of the lymphatic and immune systems and normalizes body functions. It also affects the sensory system, which stimulates production of neuro-chemicals affecting the sense of well-being."(Nina Gart)

Stone Therapy goes beyond the physical experience of typical massage, and enters deeper dimensions of relaxation, health and well being, creating a positive approach to the ‘Body-Mind-Spirit’ philosophy. It produces alternative sedative and re-energizing responses in the body.

Therapeutic/Deep Tissue Massage

Therapeutic massage is the manipulating deep layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques, to enhance function, aid in the healing process, and promote relaxation and well-being.

The primary purpose of a deep tissue massage is to work the fibres and muscles of the body, releasing deeply rooted patterns of tension. As the muscles relax, toxins are removed and blood and oxygen begin to circulate properly, making the entire body function better. Your therapist will likely remind you to drink plenty of water after a session to help eliminate these toxins from your body.

The massage uses many of the same strokes as classic message therapy, with the main difference lying in the fact that a deep tissue massage involves slower movements and the application of greater pressure.

Structural Myofascial Therapy

Fascia is a specialized system of the body that has an appearance similar to a spider's web. Fascia is very densely woven, covering and penetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein, and all of our internal organs.

An interesting aspect of the fascial system is that it is actually one continuous structure that exists from head to toe without interruption. Each part of the entire body is connected to every other part by the fascia, like the yarn in a sweater.

Fascia is the soft tissue component of the connective tissue that provides support and protection for structures within the human body. Soft tissue can become restricted due to overuse, trauma, infectious agents, or inactivity, often resulting in pain, muscle tension, and corresponding decreased blood flow.

Fascia plays an important role in the support and function of our bodies, since it surrounds and attaches to all structures. In the normal healthy state, the fascia is relaxed and wavy in configuration. It has the ability to stretch and move without restriction. When one experiences physical or emotional trauma, scarring, or inflammation, the fascia loses its pliability. It becomes tight, restricted, and a source of tension to the rest of the body.

Stiffness within the body's myofascial system can create postural problems, injury, pain and discomfort! Release of myofascial restrictions can affect other body organs through a release of tension in the whole fascial system.

Fascial restrictions can exert pressure on parts of the body causing all kinds of symptoms and producing pain, headaches or restriction of motion. Fascial restrictions affect our flexibility and stability, and are a determining factor in our ability to withstand stress and perform daily activities.

Structural myofascial therapy is a deep, hands-on, therapeutic technique that works along with postural somatic awareness to treat the body’s myofascial system. Myofascial stretching in one area of the body can be felt in, and affect, the other areas of the body.

Rejuvenating myofascial tissue is just one of the goals and benefits of this treatment. Clients suffering from stress headaches, postural problems, insomnia or chronic pain can benefit from this work!

Myofascial stationary cupping and moving silicone cupping is available!

Certified Biofield Tuning Practitioner:

Tuning the Human Biofield

Biofield Tuning is a simple, effective method for shifting the rhythms and patterns of the body’s electrical system. Using the coherent input produced by a tuning fork, the body is gently supported in recognizing and correcting its own vibrational imbalances.  I will be working in and  around the electric body to  simply find the noise and resistance in the biofield and stay with it until the body autocorrects. This can bring harmony and decrease stress triggers in the body.  This treatment helps to calm the nervous system and releases old stress patterns.  It is tuning the music of your biofield.

Shockwave therapy will be offered as a single therapy session.  It takes approximately 20 to 30 min for the treatment.  Each independent treatment is $70. session.  Most insurance companies cover this treatment but you must ask your own company about this coverage.  Receipts will be issued.
